Good sigs on 15 yesterday. No sigs on 12 until around 0200z despite favorable A/K and SFI at least as high as the previous day when 12 SSB was audible at 2200z. 12m RTTY window was about 15 min wide and may not have been workable vs. JA sigs. 12m sigs on all modes still audible at 0300z to this QTH (central OR). Nada on 10m except entropy. Will try 10m again today. If that doesn't work, it's toss the bones and drink some chicken blood. ;2) Keep up the good work and Happy Easter! BTW, chocolate is a liquid at your temps! ;2) Walt |

Was up at 05:20Z to catch 40m (02:20 local). Listened to EU being worked hoping that after EU sunrise moved into the Atlantic there might be a chance of some NA/SA 40m action. Nothing doing, seemed to drop 40m and go to 160. Back on 40m after SA SR working JA's and Asiatic Russia. Now into middle Russia.A bit tough on SA this operation, beams seemingly always pointing north. I know the goal of the operation is to work as much EU as possible, however, a little time looking for SA souldn't be asking too much. From my perspective:20m 1730 - 190030m 1100 - 120040m 0900 - 1000This would pull in a lot of SAI was listening on 14005 07/04 1700 onwards. Followed the shift from SP to LP S3 sigs, no way through the EU wall. It's all very well reading about people making full house 9 bands CW and SSB (not 30m), just a couple of band modes would go down well.Regards,Mike VP8NO |

Congrats for a very FB expedition. Signals aren't too strong here in SA but it's easier with good operators and you really have a lot of them there in Swains. For my surprise yesterday I made good qsos in 28 Mhz CW/SSB beeing N8S the only signal I could hear on entire band. Thanks for the new one (yes I missed the first one; 4 days calling and no qsos) what put me back to the TOP of the HR (phone and mixed) and now will be looking for 30/40 m. Very small window 0800/0900 Z, and couldn't hear a decent signal yet but will keep trying. Thanks again and congrats for a job well done. A safe return back home to all the group. |

Contacting N8S added a little spice to our World Health Day Special Event. This was the 6th year for K5THD's WHD operation and working Swains Island will go in the log as one of our more exciting contacts. Thanks guys. We'll be looking for you on Samoa.

You guys are doing a great job. Keeping control of operators who don't listen very well is difficult, but you are doing it. Would like to see a little more time taking USA stations on 40 Meters. I sat there for about 2 1/2 hours early this morning, but you only took EU stations. Thanks for being there, and keep up the great work! |
